Although I’m sure it’ll be a sensitive and thought-provoking drama and I doubt we’ll see anything in common with his character from The Wire, the headline above is the first thing that popped into my head when I heard the news that Dominic West will be starring in ITV’s forthcoming commission, Appropriate Adult.
The two-part drama will be set during the period of time between the serial killer’s arrest and his suicide on New Year’s Day 1995, focusing on the role of Janet Leach, played by Emily Watson, as the “appropriate adult” required to sit in during his police interviews.
Production starts next month, helmed by Red Riding director Julian Jarrold.
